What We Do Formed in 2019, Life of the Mind PA provides college education, life skills and reentry support to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated men and women in Pennsylvania to help them make a positive impact on their own lives, their families and communities, resulting in lower rates of recidivism, incarceration and poverty.
Mission Statement Based on powerful evidence that higher education transforms lives, reduces recidivism and creates a positive ripple effect in communities, the mission of Life of the Mind PA is to partner with local colleges located near the 25 state correctional facilities in Pennsylvania to provide administration, text books, scheduling and institutional knowledge with the goal of promoting degree granting programs by maximizing effective course distribution and facilitating communication between college and correctional facility.
